Neha Thomas
Neha Thomas is a Ph.D. student in Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, advised by Dr. Jeremy Brown. Her current research focuses on implementing haptic feedback to improve control of myoelectric upper-limb prostheses. Prior to matriculating at Hopkins, Neha graduated with a BS/MS in Biomedical Engineering and minor in Electrical Engineering from Drexel in 2017. For her master’s thesis, she worked under Dr. Hasan Ayaz to develop a portable and scalable time synchronization prototype for brain imaging systems.
In 2015 she completed a summer internship at NASA’s Johnson Space Center and studied abroad in Istanbul, Turkey. Previously, she worked with Dr. Yon Visell to create a wearable haptic feedback device for enhancing textural information. Neha’s first exposure to research was through the STAR program, where she worked with Dr. Alisa Morss-Clyne to determine the effect of amyloid-beta peptide on endothelial cell alignment.
